What kind of culture influences through technology can you see from today’s world?
Nowadays, nearly everyone has a computer. And something like children as young as 5-6 years old playing with the computer is not something new. You can really see how the computer have really changed our society. The most obvious group influenced by the computer should be kids and teenagers. In Asian countries, kids are spending more time on their computer rather than playing outside or doing something healthy such as exercising. They are attracted to playing games such as online games and can spend up to 4-6 hours non stop just playing.
Is there a possibility to reshape the (new) culture today via new technology, How?
There are chances of ways to reshape the culture we see today with new technologies that can be created in the future. How exactly? Well, big software companies may come up with ways that can limit the time for kids to spend on their computers, or can just limit of how long they can play games.

Not much to tell about what happend in class this week.
Erm, well i didn't go to class thats for sure. I woke up late in the morning and i thought, why don't i just continue with my current activity. Haha
Anyways, finals near...

Based on the documentary by Adamn Curtis, 'The Power of Nightmares Part 3 - Shadow in the Cave', shows that powerful governments such as the US and UK use the media to create false accusation for power. They use the media to spread untrue stories to citizens to receive support for their doings. The documentary shows that most people accused of undergoing a terrorist threat were always lack of evidence or the activities they were doing had nothing to do with terrorism.
Besides that, media imperialism is not all about spreading false stories or fighting for power. It's also about money interest. Strong companies are monopolizing smaller companies in the industries
To be honest, i didn't come to class this week. I was really busy finishing up my Design Fundamental assignment before the presentation day.
I'm sorry :(
Based on wikipedia, visually, a tetrad can be depicted as four diamonds forming an X, with the name of a medium in the center. The two diamonds on the left of a tetrad are the Enhancement and Retrieval qualities of the medium, both Figure qualities. The two diamonds on the right of a tetrad are the Obsolescence and Reversal qualities, both Ground qualities.
- Enhancement (figure): What the medium amplifies or intensifies. For example, radio amplifies news and music via sound.
- Obsolescence (ground): What the medium drives out of prominence. Radio reduces the importance of print and the visual.
- Retrieval (figure): What the medium recovers which was previously lost. Radio returns the spoken word to the forefront.
- Reversal (ground): What the medium does when pushed to its limits. Acoustic radio flips into audio-visual TV.
Another example of a medium is the television. Nowadays most people are more fond of downloading movies and tv shows on their computers. Some also stream live cast of sports events without having to turn on the tv by just using their computers. To some, it may be more pleasurable watching on their computers. Some say that, downloading tv shows on the computer just skips all those long advertisement that you would have to go through with a comercial channel on the tv.
So whats going on with MLC's class on week 9?
Well, the whole lecture was about this one person, Marshall McLuhan. A person who's passionate about media, who's a well known theorists (even though i have no idea whats up with his theorists) and the person who came up with the idea of "Tetrad of Media" and "hot and cold media".
Other than learning about this new person in class, there's nothing else I'd like to share with you guys in class this week.
Heres something for you guys to watch

From what i understand from these three terms, obscenity has always been illegal because it is concerned with the harmful effect of the article on its reader or audience. This is because anything that is completely lack of scientific, political, educational or social value is said to be obscene.
Pornography, is a sexually explicit pictures, writing or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal.
Whereas indecency need not be said as pornography because indecency can most easily be described as what makes a PG-rated movie PG instead of G.
Besides that, the works of obscenity, pornography and indecency are controlled and monitored by tight rules of certain countries, by people who are paid by the government to get the job done.
Heres a video of an anti-pornography activist.
